This year marks the 10th year for “BIRD” Theatre Festival TOTTORI.
Now it’s time to think about all the wonderful things about theatre arts and the meaning of theatre festivals.
Theatres are places where people can create images with their words and bodies, to see what they can’t really see, and to hear what they can’t really hear.
Those places where people can see and hear what doesn’t really exist in their daily lives could be true ‘festival’ places.
At this turning point of the 10th year, with locals together, we’d like to see how this theatre ‘festival’ has taken root in Shikano area and how it has generated a synergistic effect on both people and their lives here. Also, we’d like to share a joy and pleasure with those who visit from other places.
This year, there will be fascinating works from both Japan and overseas. In addition to that, please look forward to original performances of this theatre festival.
Theatre professionals who have been trying radical activities are going to create a play for this theatre festival.
