One of the outstanding characteristics of Clap Theater Company is that people with intellectual disabilities take up the challenge of recreating the world’s famous litera-ture. They have so far performed “Rashomon” by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, “Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett, “Before the Law” by Franz Kafka, “Faust” by Goethe among others. This particular work is inspired by “Symposium” by Plato. Makoto Morinaga, the director, together with the actors experimented a number of times with trial and error to develop this piece. The quintessence of the original work will be presented on the stage in an unexpected and surprising way.
