A Workshop to Think about
Bearing and Raising Children

Focusing on “child-raising” as the theme, this workshop will aim at creating a platform for anyone who is interested – such as mothers, fathers, late-teens to early-twenties before marriage, those who have finished raising children – to share their thoughts and think about bearing and raising children as well as marriage.

ABE Hatsumi

ABE Hatsumi is a theatre director. She has been working as a director after having studied under late OTA Shogo (playwright/director). Her theatre productions include documentary-style “Atomic Survivor” and “Economic Fantasmagoria”. She has also worked as lecture at Tokyo University of the Arts, for Regional Theatre Program of Japan Foundation for Regional Arts, and at a number of public theatres across Japan. Having given birth in 2010, she is mainly involved in workshops at the moment while raising her child.

* You may join in the middle of session or join only one session.

* On a first-come-first-served-basis. Registration will be closed once each session is filled to capacity.

Please send the following information to BIRD Theatre by email or post or via online form on our website – Your preferred date to participate, name (with pronunciation in Japanese), address, phone number, age, name and age of your children (only if you are bringing them along), and comments such as participation motive and opinion about marriage, child-bearing and –raising etc.

Participation fee for one session: 200yen

For sessions under ②, Saturday 8, September.

* However, if a session is not filled to capacity, you can come join on the day.
