This event first took place last year to let people enjoy more of BIRD Theatre Festival and Shikano town. Since we have received a request that people could enjoy more if the event takes place the day before a day off, we set the date for this event on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, September. You can enjoy looking up at the stars, hearing explanations of constellation. You can also enjoy “Bon Odori” ( Japanese festival dance), watch a film or hear ghost stories at the temple. We will prepare local craft beer for adults. There is the Shikano Onsen (hot spring) nearby. We can lend you a tent for camping. We will prepare the public hall just in case for the bad weather. You can enjoy the festival on the next day, or go to other place for sightseeing. We recommend this event to people both in Tottori and outside Tottori, especially to families.
The Details of the Night Event
Food Village (Start at 6pm on Both Date)
There will be food stalls in the courtyard of BIRD Theatre. You can enjoy local beers brewed in Shikano town and delicious food. There will be “the pop-up Japanese sake bar” only on September 15.

The Ghost Storytelling (6:30pm - 7:30pm on Both Date)
You will hear the ghost stories which have been told in Shikano town at the Temple Korinji near BIRD Theatre. Please experience the special atmosphere by hearing the scary stories at the temple.

Stellar Observation (7:30pm- 9:30pm, Only on 16, Saturday September)
You will observe the night sky of Shikano town.
* When it is rainy or cloudy, there will be an indoor lecture of astronomy with the video.

Bon Odori (Japanese Festival Dance) ( 8pm-9:30pm Only on 16, Saturday September)
Please enjoy the dance called Bon Odori around “Yagura”( the raised wooden platform) set up in the courtyard. You will dance along with some live music such as “Shikano Ondo”.
8mm Film Screening
There will be the screening of the valuable film of the local Festival “Shikano Masturi” about forty years ago.

Sleeping in a Tent
You can sleep overnight in a tent set up in the theatre courtyard. (You need to apply for this in advance. )
* The number of tents is limited. Please bring your own sleeping bag.
