More and more people of a younger generation are joining theatre arts with a hope to deliver good theatre arts to children. At this meeting, you will have an opportunity to enjoy a number of their short works just like you are visiting a trade fair. At the same time, this meeting will serve as a platform for a group of mediators who link theatre production and children and creators to network and exchange opinions. “Three Billy Goats Gruff”
“Three Billy Goats Gruff” is one of children’s books that I will always remember. I prepared props such as puppets and children’s books to tell the story while following the translated scripts and intensions of the translator. I hope to save and illuminate the sanctity of life found in the absurd in this twenty-minute production. I also hope that kids can increase their sensitivity, which could bring them to tears in surprise, and find out how “life” is scary, but precious and cherished at the same time under the wing of parents.
Composed, Directed and Props by SHIBATA Tomoyuki
Music by Karasuippiki (One crow)
With an encounter with theatre arts while in college, his acting career started off. Besides acting, his expression activities include music, painting and dance. He has been working with Karasuippiki, who also plays music for this play, on various productions including his life’s work monodrama called “Kotobuki (longevity),” and they will tour around as “Shibata Tomoyuki and Torikago no Sora” this year for Hokkaido-wide children’s story tour “Uchu Baby (Extraterrestrial Baby)”.
