Alex Rigg

An artist, scenographer, costume designer and director based in Scotland. After graduating from The Glasgow School of Art, he gained experience across a wide range of fields—including archaeology, fine art, blacksmithing, timber construction and dance—before founding the performance company Oceanallover in 1997. Focusing primarily on site-specific works, he has presented stage productions that fuse sculpture, costume, fine art, music and dance both in Scotland and internationally. Placing great importance on collaboration with local communities, he continues to create works centred on themes such as the memory of nature and the land, and the relationship between humans and the environment.
